Island Vis

One of the pearls of the Croatian Adriatic is the island of Vis. Only 45 km away from the mainland. The two largest places on the island are Vis and Komiža.

 

 

 

The island of Vis is known for its vineyards, and for horticulture.

Around the island there are smaller islands such as:  Biševo, Svetac, Brusnik and Jabuka.

The famous Hollywood hit "Mamma Mia" was filmed on the island, which shows how interesting the island of Vis is.

One of the most famous Croatian and worlds destinations is Stiniva beach. It is important to emphasize that in 2016. this beach was declared the most beautiful beach in Europe. The beach is surrounded by rocks and is made of natural pebbles, thanks to the rocks it creates a natural shade in the summer.

One of them would be a visit to the Blue Cave on the island of Biševo.

In 1951, this cave was declared a protected geomorphological monument of nature.

Its specificity is in the colors that change in relation to sunlight, sometimes the sea in the spike has the color of liquid silver.

During the summer  Blue Cave, it is one of the most visited destinations.

Island itself offers attractive sea sports, walking and hiking, and various boat trips to the surrounding islands.

On the island, you can also taste various gastronomic delicacies.  We must especially emphasize Komiža and Vis cake, one of the traditional island dishes. It is specific for its saltiness, salted anchovies and sardines, with the addition of home-grown tomatoes and herbs.
